(WWJ) A man accused of killing Egypt Covington, a Van Buren Township woman fatally shot in her home, has been formally charged.

Michigan State Police (MSP) say Timothy Eugene Moore, 34, of Toledo, Ohio was arraigned on one count homicide on Sunday, more than three years after her death. He was denied bond.

MSP did not release any further information. Moore’s relationship to Covington, if any, is not known.

Covington died in June 2017. She was just days away from turning 28.

After growing concerned when she did not answer multiple phone calls, Covington’s boyfriend went to her home on Hull Road.

He found her dead.

Her family said there was no sign of forced entry, leading police to believe she knew her killer.

MSP announced on Thursday two men had been arrested in connection with her killing. The second man’s identity has not been released.

According to her family; she had a passion for music and a love of animals. But most of all, she had a kind heart.

During a press conference earlier this year, her father described his daughter as a "living angel."

“Egypt was a bright, beautiful, amazing individual who touched every person she encountered. She will forever be missed,” her family wrote on a GoFundMe to raise money for her memorial. “…We love Egypt in this life and the next.”
