(WWJ) One person is dead following a shooting Monday afternoon in Macomb County.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to a Harrison Township home around 12:30 p.m. about a possible home invasion in progress.
Before deputies arrived, there were multiple reports from people in the area who'd heard gunshots, officials said.
And when deputies got inside, they found a person who'd been fatally shot.
As the investigation was getting underway, it was not clear at this time if the person who died is the possible suspect in the home invasion, or if it was the homeowner. It is also not known if anyone was arrested.
Early in the evening, Macomb County Sheriff's detectives remained on the scene, trying to piece together details about what took place.
No further details are being released at this time.
