(WWJ) Police are searching for a man wanted for kidnapping a woman from the Lansing area at gunpoint, and taking her Up North.
According to Michigan State Police, the suspect also sexually assaulted the woman before she escaped near Elmira, which is northwest of Gaylord.
Police said the man then fled on foot.
Early Friday evening, troopers were on the scene and in the surrounding area following up on tips from the public.
The suspect is described as a skinny Black male, approximately 5'8" tall, wearing a red hoodie, black pants and a holster on his left side.
MSP said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
