(WWJ) Police are searching for a suspect who escaped after he shot a man in downtown Detroit overnight.
It happened just before 1 a.m., Wednesday in the area of 3rd and Fort Street.
According to investigators, the 37-year-old victim was outside of a business when the unknown suspect pulled up in a green Dodge Durango, got out and approached.

The suspect allegedly then fired a shot, striking the victim in the body -- before getting back into the SUV -- Michigan license plate DQJ2445 -- and fleeing the area.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he listed in serious condition.
Police said the suspect was described as bald, chubby/heavy-set Black male with a long beard.. He was last seen wearing a light pink "Odd Future" hooded sweatshirt, ripped light blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
