(WWJ) Michigan State Police are searching for suspects in a shooting at an Oakland County motel early Wednesday morning.
Troopers responded to the Baymont Inn on 8 Mile and Meyers in Royal Oak Township, just after 2 a.m., after a desk clerk called 911 to report a shooting.
While clearing the building, troopers found one victim who had been shot twice. The victim was taken by EMS to a local hospital with what were described as "non- fatal injuries."
Police were unable to track down the shooter, who fled the scene and remained at large later Wednesday.
As the investigation gets underway, there is no information about a motive, and no description of the suspect.
Detectives are still trying to figure out exactly what happened.
