(WWJ) Detroit Police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a woman they're calling a "person of interest" wanted in connection with a shooting.

Just before 4:30 a.m. on Monday, police say an unknown suspect approached a 60-year-old man outside his home, in the 9300 block of N. Martindale on the city's west side, and started a conversation.

The suspect then produced a weapon and fired shots, striking the victim in the body, then fled the scene, police said.

The victim was taken by EMS to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

As the investigation continues, said it is believed that the person of interest — seen in a photo released by police on Tuesday — was near the location at the time of the incident, and may have information about the shooting.

Anyone who recognizes the person of interest, or who knows anything that could help police with this case, is asked to call the DPD's 10th Precinct Investigative Unit at 313-596-1040 or 313-596-1025.
