DETROIT (WWJ) – A rollover crash has left a major Metro Detroit freeway closed Monday night.
The northbound lanes of the Southfield Freeway (M-39) were closed at 7 Mile Road after a rollover involving multiple vehicles near 8 Mile Road, according to Michigan State Police.
Authorities have not said exactly what caused the crash, which happened around 8:15 p.m.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured.
MSP officials are still investigating, and the freeway remained closed, as of 9:15 p.m.
WWJ Traffic reporter O'Neill Stevens says drivers can use the Lodge Freeway (M-10) or Greenfield or Evergreen Roads as an alternate route to get around the closure.
