DETROIT (WWJ) — The search continues for a man who escaped police custody at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit Sunday morning.
Residents are being asked to avoid the area surrounding the hospital, on West Grand Boulevard near the Lodge Freeway as authorities look for 22-year-old Cortez Rabb.
Rabb was in Detroit police custody for undisclosed felony offenses Sunday morning, according to a post on the Detroit Police Department's Facebook page.
He told officers he had medical issues and was taken to the hospital, according to police. Officials did not specify the nature of the medical issues.
As he was being placed in a hospital bed, Robb allegedly escaped the officers' control and fled from the hospital.
Authorities are telling anyone who sees Rabb to not approach and instead call 911.
Officials have not released any further information about the incident, including when and where Rabb was initially arrested.
