TROY (WWJ) A St. Clair Shores man has been arrested for driving drunk for the seventh time, police said.
Troy Police say the man, 60, crashed into a car near Long Lake and I-75 last Saturday evening and kept driving.
Police were called to the scene, where a witness identified the man's car as a gray 2013 Dodge Charger. Officers found the car pulling out of Morton's Steakhouse parking lot on West Big Beaver near I-75 a short time later.
He drove west on Crooks and used a turn-around, where police pulled him over. The officer smelled alcohol on his breath while speaking with him. When asked why he had not pulled over, he stated he had been crashed into and he had nowhere to stop.
He admitted to drinking four alcoholic beverages prior to getting behind the wheel. He blew more than twice the legal limit on a breathalyzer test, police said.
The man was arrested and charged with Failure to Stop and Identify at a Property Damage Accident, Failure to Report A Property Damage Accident, and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under The Influence of Alcohol—7th Offense, pending laboratory results.
