EAST LANSING (WWJ) -- Authorities are investigating after a student was found dead in her dorm on the campus of Michigan State University Tuesday night.
The young woman's body was found at Shaw Hall, according to MSU's student newspaper, The State News, which identified the student as Monica Ibarra, a psychology sophomore and Shaw Hall resident.

Officials have not said what the cause of death may have been, but said that there's no threat to the university community.
Counseling services have been made available to anyone on campus who might need them.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the student,” MSU deputy spokesperson Dan Olsen said in a statement to the newspaper. “This was a tragic incident and we are working closely with the family and those close to the student to provide support and resources.”
