U.S. Marshals arrest suspect known as 'StrikeBaby' weeks after allegedly shooting at Taylor police officers

Taylor Police Department

TAYLOR (WWJ) – A man suspected of opening fire on Taylor police officers last month has been arrested.

U.S. Marshals on Tuesday apprehended 19-year-old Ryan Ramsey, also known as "StrikeBaby," according to Taylor police officials.

Marshals tracked Ramsey to an apartment at the Park Village Apartments near Eureka and Inkster Roads on Tuesday afternoon and he was arrested without incident, the department said.

Ramsey -- who had been considered armed and dangerous -- was wanted for shooting at two Taylor police officers with an assault rifle at the nearby Pond Village Apartments back on Sept. 19.

No officers were hurt in the shooting. While Ramsey fled from the scene, another suspect tied to the shooting was arrested.

In announcing the search for Ramsey following last month's shooting, Taylor police officials said he had the words "STRIKE" and "BABY" tattooed on the back of either hand.

Further details surrounding the case have not been released.

He will be arraigned tomorrow.
