DETROIT (WWJ) -- Investigators have a fairly specific description of the suspect vehicle as they search for the person, or people, who shot and killed a man on Detroit's west side.
According to Crime Stoppers of Michigan, 39-year-old DeAndre Young (pictured) was gunned down during a robbery the evening of Sunday, January 15, 2023.
The fatal shooting happened in the 6000 block of Prest, in the area of Greenfield Rd. and Tireman, at around 8:20 p.m.
Investigators said someone in a newer model gray Dodge with black rims and tinted windows fired shots at Young and robbed him, before fleeing the area.
There is no description of the shooter at this time, and officials said it is believed that there was more than one person in the suspect vehicle.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for the tip that leads to an arrest in this case, with Young's mother and other family members set to speak at a news conference on Tuesday.
As the investigation continues, anyone with information is urged to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-SPEAK UP (1-800-773-2587). As always, those who contact Crime Stoppers will remain 100% and will not be required to speak to police or to testify in court.
All rewards will be paid anonymously.
