WARREN (WWJ) -- Crime Stoppers of Michigan is renewing its call for tips in the case of Anthony Ray Marks, killed in a hit-and-run in Warren on Nov. 29, 2019.

According to police, the 63-year-old Warren man was on foot crossing Van Dyke Ave. near Westminster Ave., a few blocks north of 8 Mile Rd., at around 7:45 p.m. when he was struck by what's believed to be 2009 silver Jeep Liberty.

Marks — who was crossing properly, using the crosswalk — was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injures.

Now, more than two years after the tragic incident, police still have not been able to identify the driver who killed Marks.

As far as clues in the case, surveliece cameras caught images of the suspect vehicle, which was traveling southbound on Van Dyke. After hitting Marks, police said the driver continued southbound from Warren into Detroit; never stopping at the scene.

Police said the Jeep may have front-end damage from the impact.

"He was known for his sharp style of dress, distinctive laugh, and a man who enjoyed having a good time with family and friends," his obituary states. "Anthony enjoyed life and tried to live it to its fullest."

Seeking justice for Marks and his family, Crime Stoppers is hoping a cash reward of up to $2,500 will inspire someone in the public to come forward with information to help identify the hit-and-run driver.
