GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A "dangerous" driver caught going more than 40 mph over the posted speed limit on I-75 in Grand Blanc Township on Labor Day weekend is behind bars -- and without a car.
Grand Blanc Township Police announced they arrested the driver on Sunday, Sept. 3, after an officer clocked a vehicle going 119 mph while heading northbound on I-75 in Genesee County near Flint.
According to police, the driver was going roughly 40 mph over the posted speed limit.
To make matters worse, the officer discovered the driver was uninsured.
The individual was arrested for reckless driving and having no insurance. The driver's vehicle was also impounded.
The department said on social media its officers were working hard to make sure everyone had a safe Labor Day weekend and taking dangerous drivers off the road is a big part of this.
"No innocent lives were injured as a result of this reckless behavior!" police added. "Thanks to our officer being in the right place at the right time."
