DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit's Velodrome collapsed Monday morning amid ongoing power outages caused by the weekend's high winds.

Dale Hughes with the Detroit Fitness Foundation, which runs the Lexus Velodrome, confirmed to WWJ Newsradio 950 that the Inflatable white building used for bicycle racing caved in after a generator that was keeping it up failed.

Hughes said they are working on repairing some rips in the fabric before the Velodrome, along I-75 at Mack Ave., can be reinflated.

Hughes told Crain's Detroit Business that it's his guess that programming will have to be suspended for at least a week.

There were no injuries reported.

Power restoration estimates for DTE customers are available on the DTE Outage Map.
