WARREN (WWJ) -- Police in Warren say they've caught a serial burglar who has been breaking into businesses in Macomb and Oakland counties.
The 55-year-old career criminal was taken into custody early Tuesday during a break-in at the Heights Food Center in Ferndale.
He was allegedly holding a cash register when officers found him.
Police say evidence recovered at the scene also ties the man to a burglary at Wine Village Liquor in Warren, and another at Buscemi's in St. Clair Shores.
The suspect is a habitual offender, with numerous felony convictions for burglary and a home invasion.
He's expected to be arraigned on Friday on charges in connection with the Warren break-in.
