(WWJ) – More than a dozen brand new cars were stolen on Tuesday from two Metro Detroit assembly plants. Thieves stole at least 12 new Ford Mustangs from the Flat Rock Assembly Plant, about a week after a dozen other vehicles were taken from the same plant. Meanwhile in Warren, police say at least two Jeep Wagoneers were also stolen Tuesday morning.
It’s a crime that seems to be becoming more and more common. And police say it’s difficult to combat because their resources are spread very thin these days.
On a new Daily J, WWJ’s Zach Clark found out many experts are wondering why the automakers themselves aren’t doing more to prevent their vehicles from being stolen.
