MACOMB COUNTY (WWJ) - A pedestrian was seriously injured early Tuesday morning after she was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross M-59 in Macomb County.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office said officers responded to the area of westbound Hall Road (M-59) near North Ave. in Macomb Township around 6 a.m. on reports of a vehicle-pedestrian crash.
Deputies discovered a female victim was injured at the scene and she was rushed to a local hospital.
The driver who allegedly struck the woman stopped at the scene is is cooperating with investigators. It is currently unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the incident.
Authorities did not release the identity of the victim, but stated she was hospitalized in critical condition.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation at this time. No other details were released.
