
New Orleans homicide detectives investigate a fatal drive-by shooting that happened in Central City.
It happened Monday around 2:00 p.m. in the 2800 block of Jackson Avenue. The NOPD says officers found two males inside a vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds.
A police report says, “During the investigation, officers learned that the occupants of a black sedan pulled up on side of the victims’ vehicle and began firing shots from the passenger side, killing the driver and injuring the passenger. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene, and the passenger was transported to an area hospital by EMS.”
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name after an autopsy.
