Someone has toppled another statue of John McDonogh.
It was discovered knocked off its pedestal in Lafayette Park in front of Gallier Hall on Friday morning. It's not clear who is responsible for the vandalism.
The statue laid flat in the shrubs surrounding the display. A rope, likely used to pull the statue down, was also found in the shrubs next to the small statue.
This is the second time someone ripped a statue of John McDonogh from its resting place in New Orleans.

In June, protesters used a rope, chisel and a skateboard to break the McDonogh statue off its pedestal in Duncan Plaza. They then loaded it onto a truck, drove it down to the river and tossed it into the water. Bystanders later retrieved the statue from the riverbank. Police booked two people in that incident.
