Gretna Police say a single suspect is responsible for nearly 30 vehicle break-ins in the Westbank city.
Police picked up 19-year-old Dontell Jones of Harvey, based on him matching the description of a man caught on video breaking into cars in Gretna.
"Upon arrival at the Gretna Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, Jones confessed to breaking into twenty-nine vehicles and stealing four vehicles in Gretna," according to a statement from Police Chief Arthur Lawson's office. "Jones accompanies detectives and pointed out the locations where he committed these crimes."
Police say Jones has a history of theft arrests in 2016 and 2017.
