It's already a damp, rainy morning, and by this afternoon, we could have heavy rain with damaging wind.
Scattered storms could start to develop around midday, says WWL-TV meteorologist Dave Nussbaum. In the late afternoon and early evening, the potential for severe storms increases.
The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center says the New Orleans area has a slight risk (level two out of five) for severe weather.

Another round of rain and storms is possible tomorrow morning as the cold front moves through, and one to three inches of rain are possible through tomorrow afternoon. The Mississippi Gulf Coast is under a flash flood watch from 3:00 p.m. today to 3:00 p.m. tomorrow. Tomorrow's high of around 70 degrees will happen early in the morning, then temperature will fall into the 50s.
