With a major weekend for football down here, it's expected that local sports bars will have lots of patrons. It's the biggest weekend this football season with LSU taking on Alabama on Saturday afternoon and the Saints and Falcons battling on Sunday.
We're expecting to be extremely packed this weekend, we're not taking any open reservations but it is first come first served upstairs and downstairs," said general manager Tyler Burke at Lucy's.
And when it comes to the Saints, Brandon Jones event manager at Barcadia.
That's like the hate game of the year but I think it'll be a fun game and Atlanta fans are always nice when they come here," Jones said. "They like to have a little bit of fun but in the end they travel well and like to have a good time."
Fans always want to go where there are lots of TVs so they can watch the game from wherever they are.
But which game will draw the biggest crowd in the sports bars out of LSU and the Saints? Oh I don't know, I think it's a tie," said Preston Titus, bar manager at Mannings. "It seems like this year has aligned perfectly with LSU and the Saints so it's going to be a big weekend."
LSU plays at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and the Saints and Falcons square off Sunday at noon.
Bar managers all say the early games work well in New Orleans because fans watch the games then hang around into the night.
