WWL TV Meteorologist Chris Franklin has a new role at Channel 4.

"I am honored and humbled to be named the chief meteorologist," he said in a Facebook post. "I am following in the footsteps of legends such as Al Duckworth, Nash Roberts, Dave Barnes, and Carl Arredondo."

Franklin takes over for Carl Arredondo who retired earlier this year after announcing he was losing his sight.

"It’s a nervous anticipation for my tenure as chief," Franklin explained. "The team of meteorologists we have assembled is superior to any others in the city, period! I am excited to see what the future has to offer."

Franklin and the team at WWL TV provide forecasting and breaking weather for WWL Radio as well.
