UDPATE: Police say two suspects are in custody, the manhunt continues for "at least one additional suspect." Two schools returned to lockdown this afternoon.
Reports now indicate that shots fired were by a police officer as the suspects in a vehcile allegedly sped toward police.
New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson says the suspects have been caught doing this sort of thing before.
New Orleans Police have converged in Lakeview after a cop trying to stop some vehicle burglary suspects radioed for help.
NOPD has released few details, but did says the officer in need of assistance was attempting to arrest three suspects near Louis XIV and Louisville.
There have been reports of shots fired in the area, but no reports of any injuries.
They ask the public asked to avoid the area.
