Chimes, the popular burger and beer restaurant in Covington abruptly closed today after a recent outbreak of COVID-19 on the North Shore.
The public learned of the closure from the restaurant’s Facebook page.
Management posted on the page: "We will be back to serving burgers and pints as soon as possible, be safe!"
The closing comes just days after the restaurant’s LSU North Gate location closed due to the outbreak of a COVID-19 cluster in the area of the University.
The closing of Chimes comes as several Hammond area restaurants closed down due to COVID-19.
These restaurants are taking time to perform deep sanitization.
At least one restaurant had an employee who tested positive for the infection.
