The Downtown Development District is urging people to help support open businesses near the Hard Rock Hotel collapse site.
"Take a walk along Canal Street and to the surrounding areas to support our Downtown and French Quarter businesses," the DDD said in a release.
The concern is that people are completely avoiding the area and even stores, shops, restaurants, hotels and others that are open are suffering.
