"You will work happening sooner than later. It might be test piles. It might be geotech work," Wilson explained. "The days on their contract has already started."
Wilson says tonight they'll present designs for the new flyover ramps to the airport access road. He says there's more involved than just building some on and off ramps "One case in point is there's a hotel, right on the corner, so if you're leaving the airport and going to New Orleans, the airport will have to be acquired and removed," said Wilson. He says talks are already underway with property owners, and it's too early to tell if they will have to use eminent domain to buy anyone out.
The entire project is about three-and-a-half years from completion.
