Houses in the Uptown area were shaken by an apparent explosion that was heard by multiple residents Saturday afternoon
It happened as Sewerage and Water Board officials said they were investigating an incident at their water plant there.
Two people transported to hospitals for minor injuries after explosion at Carrollton Plant. Another person refused transport.

December 14, 2019 New Orleans dispatchers were heard calling fire units to the plant around 2 p.m.
A resident who lives about four blocks from the plant said it sounded like a sonic boom and rattled her house.
Nice Brown said she felt the explosion in her home on Joliet Street in Hollygrove. She said her house shook and a painting fell off her wall.
The incident has been stabilized and is entirely contained to the @SWBNewOrleans Carrollton Water Plant. Public safety officials remain on scene to evaluate.

December 14, 2019 The apparent explosion was reported not long after S&WB crews responded to separate water main breaks that dropped water pressure in Algiers and in the Uptown area.
It was not immediately clear if those incidents were related.
