FBI searches for suspected St. Charles Ave. bank robber

The FBI needs your help in finding a man they say, robbed a Chase Bank on St. Charles Avenue.

Federal investigators say the bank robbery happened yesterday, about 11:15 a.m. at the Chase Bank at 201 St. Charles Avenue in the Central Business District.

A press release says the man approached the teller counter declared he had a gun and demanded money. The robber then fled the bank on foot after grabbing the money.

The man is described as a black male, approximately 5’5” to 5’10” and approximately 150 to 170 pounds. He is approximately 35 to 40 years old, with a medium build, and brown eyes. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with white letters, blue jeans, and a black baseball cap. The robber also carried a black and blue backpack.
