
A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Orleans, Jefferson, and St. Charles parishes until 11:12 a.m.
This new warning supercedes an earlier warning for Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, and St. Bernard parishes which expired at 8:30a.m.
Another heavy line of storms rolled through the metro area starting around 5 a.m.
Parking restrictions have been suspended in New Orleans, as there are numerous reports of street flooding.
Motorists are being allowed to park on high ground, including neutral grounds & sidewalks. Do not block intersections or streetcar tracks.
This line of storms has knocked out power to a few thousand residents of Orleans and Jefferson parishes.
The latest Entergy outage map shows roughly 9306 people without power in Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard of 8:50 a.m.
Heavy storms streaming over the area could continue in the area until after sunrise.
Some storms have brought heavy rain of up to 3 inches per hour.
The rain system will finally leave on Sunday around lunchtime as the front crosses our area and allow us to dry out. A few showers could linger into afternoon and early evening, but the rain chance will be lower at near 30% for the second part of the day.
A Flash Flood Watch continues in effect for all of southeast Louisiana through 1 p.m.
