Two men, one a boyfriend, the other an ex-boyfriend are dead after the two men both opened fire on each other inside a Harvey apartment Thursday.

The Jefferson Parish Coroners Officer identified the men as 21-year old Tyrique Agnew of Bridge City and 19-year old Brandon Graves of Marrero.

The coroner says both were pronounced dead at the scene at a home on Snowbird Drive near the intersection of Jupiter Street in Harvey.

The deadly exchange began when Brandon Graves, the ex-boyfriend and father of the woman’s two children, broke into her home through an opened window Thursday afternoon.

Graves and Tyrique Agnew both shared animosity for each other with tensions reported simmering.

According to the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate Agnew, on the second floor of the home, confronted Graves as he was coming up the stairs.

The men drew down on each other.

Agnew was shot numerous times, Graves was shot once in his torso.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office has declared Agnew was the victim of homicide while Graves’ death was deemed justifiable since he had illegally entered the home.
