The heavy rain and storms continue through Thursday.
WWL-TV’s Dave Nussbaum says, “The trough of low pressure over the Gulf South with an upper-level low over the western Gulf of Mexico. They will set off scattered showers and storms across the New Orleans area late this morning and through the afternoon. Some storms could be strong to possibly severe. SPC has placed all of SE Louisiana in a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather. The main threat would be strong winds. Heavy rain is also likely and we could pick up 0.50 to 1"+ again today. Watch out for possible street flooding issues. Since the rain will take longer to develop, high temperatures will get into the lower 90s. Tonight will stay mostly cloudy and we will have scattered showers and storms into Wednesday morning. Lows will be in the 70s.”
