Here is what you need to know about N.O. Safe Reopening

With the city of New Orleans reopening Saturday morning, many questions surround exactly how Phase One will be deployed.

As part of Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s safe reopening, the city provided a few answers to common questions residents and business owners may have.

  • "What will be allowed to open in Phases 2 and 3?"
  • "How will reopening impact unemployment?"
  • "What if I want to stay home instead of going back to work?"
  • "Will I be able to use worker's compensation if I get COVID-19 at work?"
  • "How long will the phases last?"
  • "What do businesses need to do to prepare for contact tracing?"
  • "Do businesses need to keep logs of customers?"

On the Nola Ready website, there is a Safe Reopening section that provides some useful answers for New Orleans residents and business owners.

There, you can find detailed information on what types of businesses will be allowed to reopen and what the city’s requirements are for reopening.

The website also shows a list of more specific types of businesses not allowed to reopen in Phase One, such as Strip Clubs, Reception Halls, and Guided Tours.
