It's not just New Orleans dealing with auto burglaries. Mandeville police say there was a rash of vehicle break-ins early this morning. They happened outside a couple of fitness centers located in the 3500-block of U.S. 190.
"Seven vehicles had their windows smashed," said Mandeville Police Chief Gerald Sticker. "Thieves made off with purses and other personal effects while patrons were inside getting their morning workouts."
Police said it may be part of a larger theft ring operating in the area.
