Tropical Storm Marco's top winds are 65 miles per hour as it moves north-northwest in the Gulf of Mexico. A turn toward the northwest is expected later this morning.
"Marco is forecast to approach the coast of Louisiana this afternoon, and then turn westward and move near or over the coast through Tuesday," said National Hurricane Center Seniore Hurricane Specialist Eric Blake. "Fluctuations in intensity are possible during the next 24 hours, but Marco is forecast to weaken rapidly by early Tuesday."

August 24, 2020 Laura is at a similar strength as it moves over warm Caribbean waters just south of Cuba. The storm is expected to move out over the southern Gulf of Mexico later Monday night.
"A turn toward the northwest is forecast by Wednesday," said National Hurricane Center Seniore Hurricane Specialist Stacy Stewart. "Laura is then forecast to move over the central and northwestern Gulf of Mexico."
