Mattel has just launched a new gender inclusive line of dolls that just came out, known as the "Creative World" doll line. The premise of the line is customization of hair, clothes, and accessories.
Some of the options are more feminine presenting, while some are more masculine presenting, according to the senior vice president of Mattel Fashion Doll Design which allows kids to combine the elements any way they want to.
Are shoppers at an area Walmart okay with it if their kids wanted one?
"Everybody's different and this is like a transgender thing," said one woman. "They have parents now that may be transgender, so I'm okay with it. I think it's okay for kids to look at it and relate to things that are important in their lives."
"No, I'm not okay with it because I believe in the Bible, a man and a woman, that's it," said this woman.
"I don't see why not, it gives them an option, to me to pick what they like," a Walmart shopper said.
"Sure it's okay, the child can play with the toys, it's their toys," said this lady.
The line consists of six different doll kits, retailing for about $44.
