New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell has notified the New Orleans City Council that her administration will not participate in the council's public hearing into the Hard Rock collapse.
"Your decision to move forward with a Special Council Hearing, in an effort to provide a forum for the public to air its frustratio with the Hard Rock Hotel Collapse, is ill-advised at this time," wrote the mayor.
The mayor also said providing the council with information about plans to demolish what's left of the structure could jeopardize those plans.
