Today the union for New Orleans firefighters and city officials will meet after a dispute over overtime and manpower went public right before Mardi Gras.

New Orleans Fire Fighters Association president Aaron Mischler says they have more to talk about than just overtime: things like promotions firefighters have been waiting on, and how long firefighters have to work to be eligible for full retirement benefits.

"Them sitting down at the table is the first step," said Mischler, but if nothing is agreed upon, "then we come back to the membership and discuss what further actions we should take."

Montaño says Mayor LaToya Cantrell will also be in the meeting.
