NOPD investigates fatal motorcycle crash

Police in New Orleans are investigating what led to a motorcycle crash that killed one person and injured another person.

It happened Wednesday about 11:29 p.m. at the intersection of Paris Avenue and Burbank Drive in Lakeview.

An initial police report says, “officers responded to a call of a vehicle crash at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims - an adult male and an adult female - lying in the roadway with injuries. The female victim was declared deceased at the scene, while the male victim was transported to a local hospital via EMS for treatment.”

Police say the two victims were riding a motorcycle on Paris Avenue when for unknown reasons, collided with the other victim’s motorcycle. Both riders were ejected from their motorcycles.

The Orleans Parish Coroner will officially identify the decedent in this incident upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
