Paulette

Tropical Storm Paulette has formed from a depression in the central Atlantic ocean.

Tropical Storm Paulette has formed way out in the Atlantic. It is forecast to strengthen some as it slowly moves west-northwest. It may get drawn north later this week due to a weakness in a ridge of high pressure. This does not look like a threat to the Gulf at this time. #BeOn4 pic.twitter.com/ASCrJLcoqf

The forecast so far has it staying away from land. We will have to wait until the end of the week to see how much of a turn to the north it is expected to make.

Tropical Depression 18, which is in line to become René, is between the west coast of Africa and the Cape Verde islands. After bringing tropical weather to those islands, it appears likely to steer northward into the Atlantic as a hurricane and not bother the western hemisphere.

10 AM Monday - Tropical Depression 18 is way out near Africa and will likely become Tropical Storm Rene later today. It is expected to steer northwest and strengthen to a hurricane by Thursday. This path would take it out to sea. @WWLTV #beon4 pic.twitter.com/MyKWzAHPr6
