Payton zinger headlines new steak creation

Cellar Door pays homage to Saints coach off cuff response

The Cellar Door, a Lafayette Street eatery, has memorialized Saints Coach Sean Payton's off-the-cuff response to a butcher at his local grocery store by naming their flank steak creation after it.

"Worry about your fricken meat" now headlines the menu as the top selection.  So what do you get with you order a "Worry about your fricken meat?"  Cellar Door's owner Gregory Gremillion tells the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate its a sliced eight-ounce flank steak marinated in chimicurri with a honey glaze served atop a cedar plank accompanied by a hand cut fries and garlic aioli for dipping.

Payton's wise crack came following the game when the coach was doing some shopping for dinner and a butcher asked why he went to a two point conversion.  Payton told WWL's Bobby Hebert and Zack Strief that he was tired of fielding questions about the failed conversion from countless media, Payton fired back at the befuddled meat cutter "Hey, your steaks don’t look too good right now. Worry about your frickin’ meat."

Gremillion says the addition to the menu was made last week and will likely stay through the Saints playoff--longer if the team makes it to the Super Bowl.

The naming of the steak goes hand-in-hand with response many local businesses had to the infamous no-call of last year.
