Louisiana has garnered the dubious distinction of being one of the most sinful states in the country.

Our bad behavior has us ranked as America's sixth most sinful state.

That's according to a report by WalletHub, which compared the 50 states across 43 key indicators of immorality.

"We looked at the Seven Deadly Sins here, some definitely more serious than others. But Louisiana ranked 6th overall," says WalletHub analyst, Jill Gonzalez.

She says Louisiana's top three sins include lust, excesses and vices. The excesses include eating too much.

"Gluttony, yes. Obesity and fast food establishments per capita are definitely some of the areas where Louisiana excels."

According to WalletHub, we also excel at drinking, drug use and sex.

Louisiana ranks 5th for the highest average time spent on adult entertainment sites, contributing to our high mark for lust.

And, Gonzalez expects us to demonstrate our naughty habits a lot the next couple of weeks as we approach Fat Tuesday.

"Absolutely, yes. With things like Mardi Gras coming up, we're seeing certain excesses and vices here, obviously, at the forefront."

Despite all the nasty activities we partake in, WalletHub says Louisiana is America's 2nd laziest state. Sloth is also one of the Deadly Sins.

More seriously, the state is ranked 4th for most violent crimes per capita and 3rd for most thefts.
