One week after Hurricane Isaias forced schools in southern Louisiana to move their games en masse to a Thursday night, prep football in the Pelican State returns to normal as district and regional rivalries heat up.
One of the biggest rivalry games pits the Eastbank of St. Charles Parish against the Westbank. Destrehan and Hahnville are both undefeated in District 7-5A play entering Friday night's matchup. In addition to pride and local bragging rights, the district championship will be on the line. The team that wins will be in the driver's seat for the district crown and will likely cruise to the title in the final three weeks of the season.
This week also features several Top-10 matchups, including Sterlington at Lake Charles College Prep, St. Thomas More at Barbe, and Archbishop Rummel at Edna Karr.
We break down all of these games and the other high-profiles matchups happening across Louisiana in this week's edition of the Pelican State Prep Football Preview.
