The Krewe of Bacchus today announce singer and songwriter Robin Thicke will be this year's king, Bacchus LII. And for the first time, the monarch is a legacy.
Thicke's father, the late actor Alan Thicke, reigned as Bacchus XX in 1988.
"The Krewe of Bacchus is all about family," said Bacchus captain Clark Brennan. "The sons and grandsons of our founding members are a proud part of our organization. We look forward to continuing the Thicke family’s legacy with Bacchus."
Robin Thicke road as a page in that 1988 parade with his dad. He said he's excited to bring his family here for this experience.
"It was one of the best experiences I ever had with him," Thicke recalled. "I’m equally excited to have my son Julian, my daughters Mia and Lola and my fiancée April celebrate the weekend with me."
Bacchus rolls Sunday night, February 23.
