LSU forensic reconstructionists have put together what they believe is an accurate representation of what some human remains found in the Rigolets in 2016 may have looked like.
Traditional methods of identifying the man were inconclusive, and the St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office is hoping the images will jog someone's memory and lead to a break in the case.
The LSU Forensic Anthropology Computer Enhancement Services (FACES) Lab estimates the man was between the ages of 60 and 80 when he died. His badly decomposed, partially dismembered body was found July 29, 2016, in a remote area off U.S. 90.
Dr. Charles Preston, the St. Tammany Parish Coroner, says they have determined cause and manner of death, but because they do not know the man's identity and therefore cannot notify his next of kin, they cannot release details about it.
The coroner says if anyone recognizes the man, please call them at (985) 781-1150.
