It was a stormy morning for commuters with heavy showers, wind gusts, and thunderstorms. The severe weather moved out of the metro area about 9 a.m. this morning and we can expect the sun to peek out by noon with chillier temperatures in the 50s.

This afternoon, mostly cloudy skies, breezy and temperatures will climb slightly to the mid-50s.

But, bundle up tonight because it will be clear but cold. Lows north of the lake will be in the mid-30s and upper 30s south of the lake. A light breeze will make those temperatures feel more like the 20s or lower 30s.

#NewOrleans Thursday morning #WWL4cast: the rain ends this morning with cloudy and cold temperatures today. Clear and cold tonight with the sun returning on Friday. #lawx #BeOn4 @WWLTV https://t.co/xUp1QVGv1b
