Deputies in St. Tammany Parish arrest two teenagers after they lead them on a high-speed chase and struck two deputy patrol vehicles.

According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call in the Timberlane subdivision after a resident told them he saw the two teens allegedly attempting to burglarize his vehicle about 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

The deputies found the teens leaving the subdivision in a pick-up truck. When deputies attempted to make a traffic stop, that is when they say the teens sped away leading deputies on a chase into Madisonville exceeding speeds of 100 miles per hour.

They say the teens' truck allegedly struck two deputy vehicles during the pursuit and crashed to a stop. The sheriff’s office says deputies then removed a 16-year-old from the passenger side of the truck.

He was later charged with Simple Burglary, Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms and Possession of Schedule II CDS, and released to the custody of his mother on a custodial release, according to a STSO media release.

The sheriff’s office says the driver, identified as 18-year-old Mark Fridge, continued to flee on foot and allegedly fought with deputies as they tried to restrain him. They say Fridge allegedly punched one deputy in the face and dragged two other deputies to the ground while kicking them.

He was eventually brought into custody, and taken to a hospital for treatment to minor injuries he got in the scuffle.
