Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office says an arrest has been made in a fatal shooting in Harvey.
They say a man was shot Sunday night, in the 1100 block of Orange Blossom Lane between Manhattan Boulevard and Lafayette Street. The man was shot in the back and was taken to a hospital where he later died.
A press release says, “While deputies were working the initial scene, members of the Gretna Police Department located the potential suspect near the intersection of Dolhonde Street and Westbank Expressway. He was taken into custody and transported to our Investigations Bureau. Following the victim’s death, he is being arrested for second-degree murder and illegal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.”
Investigators have not yet released the name of the suspect nor the victim. They are working to determine a motive for the shooting.
