NOFD Chief Tim McConnell.says a woman who was pulled from a burning building in Broadmoor Wednesday night died Thursday evening.
Her name has not been released.
The woman was said to have been a hair dresser at the Unity 1 Beauty Supply and Salon,
She was inside the salon on the second floor when a car crashed into the building, setting off a three-alarm fire.
Four people were rescued from the second floor out of the nine people inside the building, including the woman who died from her injuries Thursday evening.
The salon, which has been in the neighborhood for nearly 40 years, was totally destroyed.
The New Orleans Police Department announced earlier Thursday that its internal affairs division, the Public Integrity Bureau, was investigating the events surrounding Wednesday night's attempted stop of a reported stolen vehicle that led to the crash and subsequent deadly fire.
That investigation is looking into a possible violation of the NOPD vehicle pursuit policy.
